Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2008 to 2010, PSYREN is a psychic battle action manga by Toshiaki Iwashiro.
Despite having concluded over 15 years ago, the series continues to enjoy enduring popularity—having been nominated three times for “MANGA WE WANT TO SEE ANIMATED” poll.
Now, the long-awaited TV anime adaptation of PSYREN is officially in the works!

Alongside the announcement, the first teaser visual and teaser trailer have been unveiled!
The visual depicts a desolate, crumbling world dominated by a mysterious tower. At the centre stands Ageha Yoshina, gripping a red phone card, alongside the heroine Sakurako Amamiya, poised with her blade. A phone booth—an iconic symbol of the series—completes the illustration, evoking a dark, intense atmosphere.

The teaser traiker is composed entirely of live-action footage, featuring a glowing phone booth emerging in the night. As cityscapes blend with concept art from the series, the visual blurs the boundary between reality and another world—perfectly capturing the essence of PSYREN.

The main staff and casts are also revealed.
Leading the project as director is Katsumi Ono, known for his work on the Symphogear series. The series composition is by Shin Yoshida, with character design by Akira Okuma.
The music will be composed by Takashi Ohmama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu.Animation production is handled by studio SATELIGHT, renowned for its work on the Aquarion and Macross series.
As for the voice cast, Rikuya Yasuda will voice the protagonist Ageha Yoshina, and Mayuko Kazama will portray Sakurako Amamiya. Comments from both cast members have also arrived.

Amamiya is known for her cool and composed demeanor—so much so that she’s earned the nickname “Ice Queen.” But beneath that calm exterior lies a whirlwind of emotions.
